Purpose of Contribute
At Contribute, I verify institutions and orphanages by working with them first hand. My purpose is to enable others to also help and provide to such institutions. With this I am an eager to learn and grow. I want to inspire others to help, to contribute!
In order to scale Contribute’s reach, I am building this web application that can help connect underprivileged children (via their institute) to the potential contributors like me and you. Based on the “category of needs” that I am learning about by visiting a few real-world orphanages, the children and their evangelists living and working there, I will incorporate one-by-one services into the website. Currently, you can donate money to the institutions via the links/QR codes provided here for each institute listed.
What Contribute strives for.
Aim
At Contribute, I may be the first amongst the Contributors 🙂 But, I want to be joined by 1000s or 100s of thousands more contributors. My goal,  in the mid-to-long term, is to build and enable a community and an ecosystem - a digital ecosystem also (through this web application) that brings the Contributors like you and me to The-Ones-in-Need. I believe we all want to help. My mission is to make it super easy to give 10 Rupees or contribute an hour of effort for the children, and more.
Learn, play, develop
Every kid must have the opportunity for good health, education, time to play and develop their ambitions. I have access to these opportunities, and I want to do a little thing or a few things for kids who have "helplessness". Some of us can maybe donate a little money? Some of us can maybe bring food or groceries? Some of us might be able to "serve" but not be able to pay? Some of us might be able to teach a skill for an hour? Or make them laugh? Or play with them? Those are the opportunities for us and limitless possibilities for them. Let's try, and try again for these kids - It is bound to make a difference.
Transparency, integrity, trust
This is one of the saddest (but true) challenges: "Is my contribution truly reaching the intended beneficiary children?" That's why I'm fulfilling myself by not only doing and interacting, but also curating and verifying orphanages that can be trusted. Shall I tell you my long-term ambition (it's missing in the world, I think)? I want to build my web application to offer a transparent tracking of all funds and resources provided to the receiving institutions. Nothing works better for a contributor than their contribution being "actually received". It is, in fact, unacceptable !! Must you have heard of the latest technologies like Blockchain? Distributed-but-trusted-ledger system? Soon, I'm committed to, soon enough, after some groundwork this year, I intend to enhance towards "Single-source-of-truth" enablement for orphanages/institutions. Â
About The Team!
Hi! My name is Riaa Gauba, and I am a student at Indus International School of Bangalore. A little bit about me is that I love to swim, play the keyboard, express myself through writing, and sometimes through art. A few years ago, I moved from Sweden to India. It was a huge change, and one I was not ready to adapt to, but that is when my eyes opened. I saw the reality of today’s world, and ever since then, I have always dreamed of helping people, especially children. I am lucky to have parents, a home to come to, and an education. They don’t always have that. But what they do have is something I deeply admire: resilience, innocence, belief, and the spirit always to try. I want to do more than feel inspired by them; I want to help them. That’s why I created Contribute, a website that connects underprivileged schools and orphanages with people who can talk, donate, visit, and support them. I don’t want Contribute to be just a website, but a piece of me. I want people who visit it to feel something, a sense of warmth, eagerness, and the joy of contributing.
